Silvestri’s work on Forrest Gump won him an Academy Award for Best Original Score, and his song “Believe” from The Polar Express won Best Original Song. He won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition for the end credit medley from Castaway. Additionally, Silvestri was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on the original Back to the Future.
